"On reading The Soft Option advertisement , we were initially interested in how a water softener could help with skin conditions such as eczema. Our 4 year daughter had been suffering from eczema. Despite creams and antibiotics, this would not clear and the itching and soreness was very upsetting for her.3 months on from having a softener fitted, our daughter's skin has completely cleared up, and you would never know that she had had a problem.
We are also seeing the following savings:
1. Had to turn the shower temperature from 6 to 2.
2. Only use 1/2 the amount of washing powder and no fabric softener.
3. No dishwasher salt required.
4. The water from the central heating is hotter so goes further.
5. The kettle boils quicker.
6. We also had a filtered water tap fitted so no longer buy bottled water or have to use Brita filters.
7. The bathrooms also need less cleaning as no limescale.
8. Clothing colour not fading so lasting for longer.
The initial reason for a water softener was to ease our daughter's eczema, however it looks like it will pay for itself in a short space of time and helps us do our bit for the environment"
